Out There Productions was named the 2011 Event Manager of the Year at the Australian Event Awards in a gala dinner on 6th October 2011 held at the Allphones Arena in Sydney Olympic Park.

With six states represented, the Australian Event Awards are a celebration of the thriving national events industry, from major sporting tournaments and arts festivals, to charity events and business conferences.

“The judges were enthralled by the excellence and diversity of Australia’s events arena,” said Johnny Allen, Foundation Director of the Australian Centre for Event management and co-chair of the judges.

“From more than 70 finalist entries across all categories, the judges made some tough decisions to select Australia’s most remarkable achievements in an industry brimming with creativity, innovation and professional talent.”

Out There Productions won the gong for their consistent production of high quality, innovative, and diverse events. In the 12 months from July 2010 through to June 2011, Out There Productions delivered 47 significant public events, attended by some 650,000 people all around Australia.

Out There Productions Managing Director Andy Lopez was surprised and delighted by the result. “We have a great team at Out There Productions who do fantastic work for an excellent bunch of clients. We’re lucky to be supported by a network of fantastic event suppliers who do a lot of the hard yards that make our events successful. Event managers aren’t rocket scientists or brain surgeons. We’re just there to add a bit of fun and fluff to people’s lives and that’s exactly what we set out to do.”
